Extinction Rebellion will be at the forefront of a week-long campaign, focused on the City of London plus actions across the UK. At the same time as Coal Action Network, Mothers Rise Up, Quakers UK, StopEACOP and Tipping Point, we will be targeting the global insurance industry – the people who could stop the fossil fuel crooks in their tracks overnight if they wanted to.
Because no insurance = no more drilling for oil and gas

The majority of the UK public are terrified about what is happening to our climate. The government can't be trusted to do the right thing to protect lives. They open coal mines and politicians fill their pockets. They wreck the economy, education system and our NHS. All the while they pin responsibility on poor families, people of colour, and new immigrants.
If politicians aren’t willing to put in the hard graft to turn things around, then we will. It’s time we choose our own future.
Because change is coming whether they like it or not. So, it’s time for corrupt politicians to step aside and for the rest of us to step in and unite to survive. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get on with it.
With 100,000 people at Parliament taking action together, we will become impossible to ignore. The community built there will kick-start the alternative future desperately needed, showing what the true potential of the human spirit is capable of in the face of impossible odds.
